Our Clinic

With the growing demand for treatment of melanoma and skin cancers in South East Queensland, this dedicated melanoma and skin cancer clinic has been set up to meet the needs of patients and their general practitioners.

In order for patients to be able to be seen in a timely manner, patients with a referral may have their skin cancer/s assessed in our clinic and, if appropriate, removal and treatment of most skin cancers are able to be performed in our fully set-up procedure room with dedicated doctors who have special interest and vast experience in this area.

Appointments with Dr Crampton, for patients who require specialist care and/or hospital admission, will involve a longer wait time, depending on the condition, and will require a referral. He performs international gold standard melanoma procedures including complex flap surgery, sentinel node biopsies & groin/axillary dissections at the Tweed Hospital for public patients and the John Flynn for patients with private health insurance.

Dr Crampton is a member of the Australia New Zealand Melanoma Trials Group (ANZMTG) and, as such, patients may be offered access to new treatments and the opportunity to be involved in research aimed at curing melanoma. Dr Crampton's association with the Tweed Hospital Oncology Unit & Gold Coast Medical Oncologists, enables access to clinical trials including BRAF inhibitors. His long association with the John Flynn Hospital Oncologists and Radiation Oncologists provides options and access to any possible treatments.

Patients with thick melanoma, Merkel cell tumours and invasive SCCs may need PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanning as part of their workup. PET scanning can be done in Southport, Lismore or Brisbane. He works closely with Oncologists, Pathologists (including Genetics), Psychologists, Lymphoedema Therapists & Physiotherapists to provide these patients the best possible outcomes and care.
